Teach MeetingDebrief your names, acronyms, and jargon once

Overview

Names, acronyms, product names, and internal shorthand are exactly what local speech models tend to mangle. Vocabulary teaches MeetingDebrief those words once. It works at three points: it hints your terms to the transcriber before it listens, corrects the transcript as it is saved, and explains your terms to the model that writes summaries and answers chat questions. Dictation uses the same vocabulary.

Open it in Settings → Vocabulary.

Terms

Each term has:

  • Term: the spelling you want, such as Kubernetes.
  • Meaning: a short explanation, such as "Our container orchestration platform". Summaries and chat use it to understand the word.
  • Also heard as: any number of aliases the speech model tends to produce instead, such as "cooper netties". These are corrected to the term automatically.
  • Always hint the transcriber and Enabled switches per term.

Use Filter terms… to find a term in a long list.

Hint terms to the transcriber

With Hint terms to the transcriber turned on, your terms are passed to the speech model before it transcribes, so it spells them right the first time. Turn it off if a transcript ever echoes the term list.

Growing your vocabulary as you work

  • Fix a word in a transcript: after you edit a line, MeetingDebrief offers to always make that correction. Click Remember.
  • Select text in a transcript: select up to five words and a floating chip appears. Click Add to vocabulary.
  • Suggest terms: in the transcript header, Suggest terms lets the local AI read the meeting and propose product names, acronyms, and jargon to add.

When saved corrections change a transcript, a notice tells you how many words were corrected from your vocabulary.

Import and export

Terms can be imported and exported as plain text, so a shared team glossary is a copy-paste away. Use Import and Export in the Vocabulary panel, or Copy vocabulary as text.

Advanced corrections

For rules that need more control, open Advanced corrections inside the Vocabulary panel. Each rule has Heard as and Replace with, a match mode (Whole word, Substring, or Regex), and a Case sensitive option. Word replacements from earlier versions moved here automatically and behave exactly as before.

API access

Vocabulary is available through the local HTTP API, so connected tools can read and add terms.
